About us

Hi there – we’re Jenny, Ryan & Mellow!

Our story started back in 2017, when Ryan came to Braunschweig, Germany for a year abroad. By pure chance, we were paired in a tandem language course and told to go on weekly “language dates” as homework. Jenny was convinced Ryan wasn’t really into it – or her – but it turns out that wasn’t quite the case.

Fast forward through years of ups and downs, long distances and learning curves: in September 2021, Ryan moved to Germany full-time and completed his Master’s at RWTH Aachen Business School. After graduation, a job offer brought us to Munich – and in October 2023, we finally moved into our very own apartment.

Then in February 2025, our little adventure trio became complete with the adoption of Mellow, our sweet (and slightly chaotic) new family member.

Life together is full of small moments, new places, and memories worth holding on to. This blog is our way of capturing them – and sharing them with those we love most.
